Every Friday at lunch, the Dandelion pop-up restaurant features meals from area chefs as a way to bring the community together through local food.
Using the freshest ingredients, local and regional chefs combine unique flavors to feed the community and bring Omahans a unique dining experience. The pop-up features different chefs, restaurants and cuisines each week. Participating restaurants have included WD Cravings, Dundee Dell, Wonton Jon's
and Mas Chingon, among other local favorites.
At various pop-ups, local groups have also provided entertainment, such as a free concert series put on by Omaha Symphony musicians. The pop-up has also featured a comedy show and a drive-in theater as a way to bring people socially-distanced entertainment during COVID-19.
While the pandemic has been scary and stressful for many, Dandelion Pop-Up creator Nick
Bartholomew says he is glad the pop-up restaurant can serve as a way to bring people delicious food and a sense of community.
"It's really been a beautiful way to bring people together and help during a scary time," he told Food Day in 2020.
Due to their popularity, Dandelion's weekly pop-ups often sell out as the community stops by to support local restaurants. The next few pop-ups will feature meals from Chef Nick Joubert, Kinaara and Chef Joe Tripp from Harbinger Des Moines.
Dandelion Pop-Up features lunches from area chefs every Friday. Visit the pop-up restaurant's Facebook, Twitter
